After dating the “Superintendents daughter,” Betty Wood, they were united in marriage in December of 1957. They had two daughters, Randi (Mark) Radosevich and Ricci (Paul) Serck.
Charles had a brief career in finance but realized that his love for driving led him to a lifelong career as a truck driver. He drove from coast to coast for multiple transportation companies until the mid-seventies and retired from Roberts Dairy in 1992.
His many hobbies included motorcycles, hunting, the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Indiana Fever, a good game of pitch, and hosting his Southside Happy Hour on Friday evenings. Fishing was his passion. He never passed up a fishing trip to Canada or Minnesota, and in recent years fishing in local ponds, lakes and the junkyard to catch fish for his annual fish fry.
The proudest part of his life were the times he shared with his three grandchildren, Liz (Alex) Sandvig, Nicholas Serck, and AJ Serck.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, parents and four siblings. He is survived by his immediate family, 10 siblings, and an abundance of nieces and nephews.
