Crista Meade Obituary (1959 - 2026)

Crista Renee Meade, 66, of Birmingham, IA passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place. Crista Renee Meade was born on June 14, 1959, in Fairfield, IA to Kenneth and Bonnie Pruden Dille. She graduated from Van Buren High School and worked several jobs before beginning her career at the Jefferson County Treasurer’s Office. She was a dedicated employee and a friendly face in that office for over 35 years. She was a proud mother of two children, Chad and Tiffany. In 2000 she was united in marriage to Terry Meade. The two shared the next 25 years together. In 2014 Crista began struggling with pulmonary fibrosis and in 2017 was the recipient of a double lung transplant. With this procedure she was able to enjoy several more years with her family and friends. With this experience came an appreciation for the transplant organizations and the families that choose to donate. Crista loved to shop and collect hummingbird memorabilia and Tupperware. Without a doubt the best use of her time was spent with family, especially the grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed. Crista was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Steve Dille and step-son, Brad Meade Left to share her story is her husband, Terry Meade of Birmingham, IA; two children, Chad (Emily) McCarty of Waukee, IA and Tiffany (Tavis) Cummings of Fairfield, IA; step-daughter, Nicole (Dale) Bright of Janesville, IA; seven grandchildren, Jaxon, Easton, Asaa, Brentley, Caiden, Lorena, and Samantha; three siblings, Tim (Jennifer) Dille, Mike (Laura) Dille, and Vicky (Dave) Hyde; a sister-in-law, Nadine Bruegge, as well as many extended family and friends.
