Janan Nixon Obituary (1921

Fairfield Janan Elizabeth Nixon, age 94 of Fairfield died Saturday April 9, 2016 at Jefferson County Health Center. Janan was born September 29, 1921 at Davenport to George and Gladys Norris Schroeder. She was a graduate of Fairfield High School. She was united in marriage to Ralph D. Nixon in October 1939 in Fairfield. He preceded her in death March 19, 1975. Janan worked at the Tribune Printing Company for several years. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Fairfield and was active as a Girl Scout Leader. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; one son: Bruce Nixon. Surviving family members include a son, Craig (Barbera) Nixon of Lexington Park, Maryland; one daughter-in-law: Cindy of Davenport; 3 grandsons; two sisters: Jean Six of Fairfield and Pat Despain of Ottawa, Illinois; along with many nieces and nephews. A Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the First Lutheran Church in Fairfield with Pastor Brian Gentz officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or the First Lutheran Church. The Raymond Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
