Judith Bailey

Fairfield Judith Ann " Judy " Bailey, age 73, of Fairfield died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Mercy Hospital In Iowa City. Judy was born March 25, 1939 in Fairfield, the daughter of Roy E. and Laura Justine Sheffer Schock. Judy has lived her entire life in Fairfield. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1957. She received her bachelor''s degree from Parsons College and attended the University of Iowa. Judy taught 8th grade in the Fairfield School system before her retirement in 2012. She married Harold E. Bailey on June 25, 1961 at the First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and P.E.O. and her bridge club. Judy''s two cats Kashmir and Jammu were a big part of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter Kristen. Surviving are her husband Harold and their daughter and son-in-law Lori and Robert Raw of Coralville, Iowa and her brother Roger and wife Ursula Schock of Eldridge, Iowa Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield with Pastor Joe Phipps officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the church. Friends may call to pay their respects on Thursday at the Raymond Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. Memorials in Judy''s name may be given to the First Presbyterian Church or the Fairfield Public Library. Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
