Katherine Campbell

Katherine Campbell, 75, of Fairfield, IA passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022, at the Parkview Care Center in Fairfield, IA. As were her wishes, her body has been cremated. Katherine Hart Campbell was born on July 29, 1946, in Oklahoma City, OK to Jack R. and Omega Howard Hart. She grew up and attended school in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Shortly after school she met and married the love of her life, Sammy Alex Campbell Sr. Sammy finished his service with the United States Army and was honorably discharged in Ft. Hood, TX and the two would call Texas home for several years. While in Texas, Katherine worked in shipping and mailing, and at Texas Instruments. Together Katherine and Sammy became the loving parents of three children: Sandra, Sammy Jr. and Sheryl. The family eventually moved back to Oklahoma where they remained until Sammy Sr.'s death. Katherine moved with her daughter Sheryl and her husband Ryatt to Seattle and eventually to Fairfield, IA. Katherine always enjoyed sitting down with a good book or enjoying a western movie on TV. Her presence will be missed but her memory will remain in the hearts of her family and friends.Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Sammy Campbell Sr.; her son, Sammy Alex Campbell Jr., and two siblings, Mary Davis, and Joann Owens.Left to share her story are her two daughters, Sandra Steele and Sheryl (Ryatt) Stallard; nine grandchildren, Patrick Steele, Ashli Steele, Britney Cambell, Sammy Campbell III, Brandi Stallard, Jo Dillanou, Salena Stallard, Athena Stallard, and Ryann Stallard; two siblings, Jerry Hart and Terry Weible, as well as many extended family and friends.
