Linda Lee Steele

Linda Lee Steele, 77, of Eldon, IA passed away Thursday, March 5, 2020 at her home in Eldon. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Cranston Family Funeral Home in Eldon, IA. A time for family and friends to share memories of Linda will begin at 2:00 p.m., with burial in the Eldon Cemetery immediately following. Linda Lee Steele was born May 16, 1942 in Ottumwa, IA. She grew up and attended school in Ottumwa, IA and later received her G.E.D. Linda went on to complete Med Aide Certification and spent many years working at the Jefferson County Care Facility until her retirement in 2004. Linda married the love of her life, Art Steele, on November 18, 1959 in Ottumwa, IA. Together they were the proud parents of seven children. Linda and Art worked hard to support their family and stayed by each other's side for over 60 years. Linda loved her family and enjoyed the family get togethers. She always liked to sit down with a good book or spend time crocheting. Linda also looked forward to a chance at shopping or gambling and loved spending time outdoors fishing. She will be missed by her family and many friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Mark and Timothy Steele; three siblings, Pam Underwood, Sue Berry, and Jim Tennison; Stepfather, Bill Tennison, and one granddaughter, Nicole Steele.

Left to share her story is her loving husband, Hubert "Art" Steele of Eldon, IA; five children, Billy (Shelly) Steele of Cedar Falls, IA, Patty Steele of Ottuwma, IA, Mary (Dennis Thomann) Clark of Wisconsin, Terry (Sheryl) Steele of Ottumwa, IA, and Tony Steele of Ames, IA; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Steele of Missouri; three sisters, Shirley (Frank) Fisher, Connie Ashby, and Gina Tennison; one brother, Dick Tennison, as well as 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and many extended family and friends.
