Russell Scott Wollman

Russell Scott Wollman was born November 4, 1953 and passed away at his home in Fairfield, Iowa on December 27th, 2021 in his sleep of natural causes. Russ was preceded in death by his parents William "Bob" Wollman, Joan Margulies Wollman and his sister Lisa Wollman Bolick. He left behind many beloved friends and his cousin Barbara Wollman Lindsey.

Russ lived life through his senses and often expressed himself through his writing. He was passionate about India, it's people, the culture, the food and the faith. He made many trips there. He dedicated a big part of his life to the practice of transcendental meditation. He was both the student and the teacher. Russ was a very devoted TM teacher and taught more than 200 people over about a three year period in NYC before moving back to Fairfield.

Russ managed the family's historic landmark property Grosvenor Gardens Apartments in Raleigh, NC for many years. He took great pride in that job and was someone the residents always knew they could count on. The stories of his kindness and his gentle soul are endless.

Russ also had a great appreciation and love for humor. It was a facet of his Jewish upbringing that he genuinely identified with and cherished in himself and others. To read more of Russ' poetry and other writings check out russwollman.com

Russ was a compassionate soul and gone too soon but based on his beliefs there is no doubt this is just one part of his journey.
